He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress and for his children it will be a refuge.

Myrtle Beach

If you know me well, you know that my beach is my very favorite.  I'll go as many times as possible especially while we're in the states since we don't go regularly overseas.  So when Jason's brother and wife who happen to be some of our very best friends offered to share their Myrtle Beach time share, we jumped on the chance.  Time with family AND on the beach.  Win/win for everyone. I've grown up being a Gulf Coast beach girl, so I was happy to see what the Altantic coast had to offer.

Here's AB trying out her new Sofia the First beach chair while "helping" dad pack the car.

Lunch on the road!

We got the carload of younger cousins- it was a fairly quiet trip.  I can't speak for the teenage cousin car...

First walk on the beach...

A little rain may have kept us away from the beach, but since we were only there 4 days and we had A LOT of rain, we made the best of it.  Not pictured:  me huddled under an umbrella determined to get in beach time while the kids ran around in the rain on the beach and played made up games with soccer balls and frisbees.

On another slightly less rainy day, we had a family soccer match Jeremy vs Jason Cox's.  It was fun and kind of drew a crowd.
I'm sure people were wondering what these 2 guys who were pretty decent at soccer were doing playing with a whole posse of girls!

It wouldn't be a Cox vacation without plenty of game playing...
Teaching another group of cousins how to play Settlers of Catan
 Shell sorting...
 Ice cream!
Being at the beach is hard work!!
We took a side trip through Charleston on the way back to the Cox's in Georgia.  This one could have stayed for hours in the market...

Lunch on the pier- shrimp and grits and a bacon, fried green tomato sandwich were some of the choices- yummy!
